Welcome to our web page! We are Libertyville Stars Special Olympic Swim Club. We are a member of Special Olympics Illinois and are a year round competitive swim team.

What STARS stands for
Sportsmanship
Our athletes strive to display great sportsmanship with their teammates, competitors, and coaches. Win or not, be brave in the attempt!
Teamwork
Stars athletes work together to improve and encourage one another to achieve. Team relays are the best! We are all better together.
Attitude
We display a positive "can do" attitude and welcome new opportunities and challenges. Rough seas make for good sailors. Be positive. You can do it!
Respect
We show mutual respect and care for one another at all times, both in and out of the pool. We embrace those differences that make us unique.
Socialization
We love to have fun as a team. We have frequent social events to strengthen our friendships with one another. Our teammates are the best!
Find your place with the Stars
Swim with us
Athletes eleven and older with a developmental disability, training September through the Illinois Summer Games in June.
Coach with us
Local students 12 and older join us on deck as peer coaches and mentors on Sunday mornings.
Cheer us on
Time trials, our home Reach for the Stars meet, Region B Districts and the Summer Games in Bloomington/Normal.
Libertyville High School
We practice and host our meets in the 50-meter Libertyville High School pool, opened in 2019. On Sundays it is usually divided into two 8-lane pools.
